  • Thinking of travelling in the Iberian Peninsula?   SATA Internacional Airlines has announced a destination expansion to Spain in conjunction with their code-share partner TAP Portugal Airlines.   Effective immediately you’ll find your travel agent can offer access to more places in Spain.   In addition to cities currently offered such as Madrid, Barcelona and Málaga, now, Valencia, Bilbao and Seville can also be routed via SATA’s Toronto-Lisbon service for onward connections. Some destinations can also be routed via the Toronto-Porto service.  La Palma in the Canary Islands is also available via Ponta Delgada-Azores. www.sata.pt  
  • Scotland anyone? Sunwing Airline’s expanded summer Europe programme now includes Glasgow, Scotland.  The inaugural flight departed Toronto on 13 June at 23:00 h.  and the flights will operate weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with return flights on Thursdays and Sundays, until 9 September . All flights will be on 300-seat Boeing 767s.  Sunwing will also be offering Glasgow vacation packages.   Along with centrally-located, well-priced hotels, car rentals will be available through Alamo Rent A Car as well as pre-bookable excursions and tours.  All flights to Glasgow will be operated on Sunwing Airlines and passenger may upgrade to Sunwing’s Elite Plus service for an additional $40 per flight. www.sunwing.ca 
  • And more Sunwing news.  I know we have a number of members who live in Northern BC.  Those of you may welcome the news, especially when winter rolls around, that as of December 2012, Sunwing will connect Prince George Airport to Mexico with a nonstop weekly flight to Puerto Vallarta every Wednesday until 27 March, 2013.  In Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit, the operator also offers a variety of hotels and resorts, from the small downtown hotels to the larger resorts, as well as popular hotel chains such as Riu Hotels & Resorts, Dreams, Barcelo and more. The programme is set to run 19 December  through to 27 March, 2013.  So don’t put your sandals away when summer ends in Canada!
