Helen came by her love of travel innocently enough – she grew up in the UK and went to France for summer camping holidays – always accompanied by visits to the local markets and typical restaurants. As soon as she was able to get away to more exotic places, she took off. And, she adopted the same model of eating local food and staying at small hotels as her family always did.
Since then, she’s hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, swam with sea lions in the Galapagos Islands, explored abandoned fishing villages in Greenland, sweated in a traditional Finnish sauna in Helsinki, participated in a candle ceremony in Varanasi, drank kava with village elders in Fiji, eaten oysters on a luxury barge in France, and even explored parts of Antarctica. After nearly two decades in the industry, travel is a way of life for Helen.
