Member Hotel Recommendation – Munich

Member Hotel Reco - Pension am Jakobsplatz
Comfortable room # 4

by Barbara Bagnell – I’ve just read Denise Bridge’s recommendations for hotels in Munich, and thought I’d pass along a different sort of hotel.  It’s Pension am Jakobsplatz. within 5 minutes walk of Marienplatz.  This tiny “hotel” has all of four rooms.  Two have private facilities, and two have not.  Best room is Number 4.  Run by a charming man named Christoff, his son, and friend Phillip, it offers a fullsome breakfast with cereals, breads, cheese, meat, yoghurt, as well as coffee and juice.  In fact the coffee-tea facilities are ready to use anytime. I was up at 5.45 a.m. and had my early coffee and took a cup to my roommate.  Fresh fruit was always present for a quick pick-up, also magazines and books in German and English.  Our rooms were immaculate with crisp white duvets.  The breakfast area served as a place to play scrabble in the evenings.  Everything is close to everything else here — reception desk and bookcase become breakfast buffet.  For 100 Euros a night we had a room with private facilities and breakfast. Credit cards accepted. All 4 rooms are pictured on this website:
